Terry Parsons

Terry ParsonsTerry initially learnt drums from his father, who form many years ran a number of bands in the London area.  In the ‘60s Terry toured with the pop band ‘Chris Lamb & the Universals, before taking up a residency in a night club in Leicester Square backing cabaret and playing for dancing.  He has worked alongside many of the "old stars" (most no longer with us!), including Roy Castle, John Inman, George Williams, Ken Goodwin and Jimmy Cricket, and was a member of the comedienne Ellie Laine’s backing band for 4 years, touring throughout the UK.

He spent 10 years as the bandleader at Monkey Island Hotel, near Maidenhead, followed by a long residency at the Out of Town Country Club near Reading where the band played for dancing then backed the cabaret, with acts such as Mike Reid, Jim Bowen, Jefferson Lincoln, Val Doonican, Frankie Vaughan, Max Bygraves and Tom O'Conner.

Terry also plays with a function band, as well as working with Tony in That Shaw Thing.
