Dave Richmond

Dave RichmondIn the early sixties Dave played double bass with the Manne-Hugg Blues Brothers which later became Manfred Mann (5-4-3-2-1). Switching to bass guitar he briefly joined the John Barry Seven before going on to a successful session career and recording with stars including Dusty Springfield, Cliff Richard, Cilla Black, Serge Gainsborough/Jane Birkin (Je T'aime), Labi Sifre (It Must Be Love). He played on Elton John's black album on Your Songand Border Songand became one of the Shadows on two albums, co-writing The Honorable Puff Puff.

He recorded with Henry Mancini incuding 5 albums for Reader's Digest,  played on the signature tune and end music of Only Fools & Horses and for the last 21 years (he’s regarded as a new boy!)  has played fretless bass guitar for the TV series 'Last Of The Summer Wine' (Musical director, Ronnie Hazlehurst) He currently plays with the Bert Kaempfert Orchestra, directed by Tony Fisher, Chris Smith's "String of Pearls Orchestra",Toby Cruse's Manhattan Swing, and Anthony Wright’s That Shaw Thing, plus many freelance jazz gigs.
