Pete Roth

Pete began playing the guitar at the age of 11 and by the age of 12 was playing lead guitar in the school band.. Mostly self-taught, Pete’s early influences were Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Garry Moore. By the age of 19 he decided to to take up private lessons and developed a passion for all things fast as long as they have been played by Steve Vai or Joe Satriani.

With more experience and understanding of music he decided to enroll in a music degree course which involved the major step of moving from his home country Germany to Guildford in England. During this time he developed a passionate love for Jazz music and his influences are Joe Pass, George Benson and Pat Martino. Pete has worked professionally since 1998 in numerous projects such as backing a major artist in the prime time Television show “ Hitparade der Volksmusik” to playing in the remake of the Christmas song “Do they know its Christmas time” for Capital FM.

Recently he has been Musical Director in a private TV production and plays with different bands all over the country as well as having traveled the world on his work for P&O cruise ships on board the Oriana.  He lectures at the Academy of Contemporary Music, as well as working with Anthony’s AllStars function band and That Shaw Thing.
